Types of Yoga

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga classes focus on the practice of traditional Yoga postures (asana), breathing techniques, and mindfulness. The primary emphasis in practice is listening to the body through holding poses for extended periods, strengthening core muscles, enhancing flexibility, balance, and concentration.

Yoga with props (Yoga chair – Yoga blocks – Yoga wall – Yoga stick)

Classes with Yoga props involve the use of specific props to assist with body alignment while focusing on precise movements within each Yoga posture. This approach aims to achieve the best possible results and endurance during practice for students. It is a highly regarded style of Yoga that demands a high level of accuracy and helps tailor each posture to suit the individual physique and needs of each student during their training.

Yoga Ball Fitness

Yoga Ball exercises are typically gentle, fluid, and graceful, with a focus on enhancing flexibility in the joints. They help improve lower body strength, specifically in the back, abdomen, and buttocks, making these muscle groups firmer, more robust, and more flexible. These exercises also support effective weight loss by effectively burning excess fat in the abdominal, waist, and hip areas.

Aerial Yoga

These are Yoga exercises that are performed with the use of silk hammocks suspended from the ceiling. In addition to traditional ground-based Yoga poses, these exercises incorporate movements inspired by aerial arts when the body is no longer subject to Earth’s gravity.

The benefits of Aerial Yoga are highly effective: it reduces pressure on the spine, allowing the muscles around the spine to relax. Joints also don’t have to bear the same level of pressure as in traditional Yoga, which challenges the nervous system, mental well-being, body awareness, increases stretching, enhances flexibility, is beginner-friendly, and helps with body shaping.

Aerial Yoga is currently very popular.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga classes combine meditation and a state of bliss, creating poses that restore the body while using props and soothing music. These restorative Yoga poses play a vital role in our Yoga journey: they help rejuvenate the body, heal the negative effects of everyday life stress, and support our nervous system in returning to a balanced state.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa classes are like dynamic dances of life. Poses are connected with each breath, allowing the body to smoothly transition while maintaining balance. Vinyasa helps us generate energy, build endurance, flexibility, and strength. Typically, creative sequences of poses are built based on the Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) series, creating challenging workouts.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga integrates the principles of Hatha yoga and Qigong, based on the concept of Yin and Yang from Daoism. Yin yoga focuses on connective tissues (ligaments and tendons) rather than muscles. It doesn’t emphasize warming up muscles or quick movements; instead, Yin yoga encourages slow, passive stretching poses that can be held for at least 3 minutes or more, often using props.

Primary benefits of Yin yoga include:

* Tranquility and balance of the mind and body.
* Stress and anxiety reduction.
* Enhanced circulation.
* Improved flexibility.
* Fascial release (releasing tension in connective tissues).
* Better joint mobility.
* Balancing internal organs and improving energy flow through stimulating meridians.

(Note: The terms “Yin” and “Yang” are traditionally used in Daoism, not Dao giáo, which is the Vietnamese term for Daoism.)

Yoga Blind

This is a Yoga practice method that demands complete focus inward. When practitioners use a specialized blindfold, it allows them to open their eyes without seeing anything in the external world. This internal connection becomes the path, the light, for practitioners to perceive the subtleties of Yoga through movements. The integration of breath and posture creates the complete beauty of Yoga through this form of practice.

Yoga Kids

Yoga classes for children provide stress relief after a week of studying, release tension from the body, and help correct posture issues such as hunching and curvature of the spine due to incorrect posture. In addition, Yoga Bay Kids classes also help children conquer aerial poses, bringing excitement and challenges that children always seek.
