❓Question: What does the Stott certification exam include?

Answer: After ensuring you have completed the required total hours for the module you studied, you will take the exam. The exam consists of both a written (theory) exam and a practical exam.

Theory Exam:
– It consists of 100 multiple-choice questions covering all the material you have learned.
– The time limit for the theory exam is approximately 3 hours.

Practical Exam:
– The duration of the practical exam varies depending on the module you are taking:
– Mat or Reformer: 60 minutes
– Mat and Reformer: 90 minutes
– Mat, Reformer, and Cadillac, Chair, and Barrel: 120 minutes

During the practical exam, you will need to:
– Gather basic information from the client (the client is a surprise and you only find out during the exam).
– Assess the client’s posture.
– Develop a plan for exercises based on the client’s posture.
– Explain fundamental principles.
– Demonstrate exercises at both the Essential and Intermediate levels (the minimum number of exercises you need to teach will vary in each module).
– During the exam, your Instructor Trainer will spot-check your technique (they will stop you at some point and check the technique of specific exercises).

To pass the Stott exam, you need to achieve a minimum score of 80%, with no section (theory or practical) scoring below 70%. You will receive your exam results approximately 4-6 weeks after the exam. In case you do not pass, you can retake the exam.

❓Question: What do you receive when you become an internationally recognized Stott-certified instructor?

Answer: First and foremost, you will have a sense of pride in yourself. Learning is a challenging process, and passing the certification exam is even more challenging. Therefore, the certificate is the most tangible affirmation of all the effort you have put in. Be proud of becoming an instructor with one of the world’s most renowned contemporary Pilates schools.

Secondly, your name will be listed on the Stott website for 1 year. This means that clients from around the world can find you by searching in their respective countries on the Stott website. You can find the list of recognized instructors worldwide at this link: https://www.merrithew.com/find-an-instructor.

However, to maintain your presence on this website, you need to complete at least 6 hours of additional training, such as workshops or different courses offered by Stott, each year. This is how Stott ensures the highest quality for its certified instructors.

Additionally, after being trained by Stott, you will receive a 10% discount when purchasing equipment from Stott, and as a recognized Stott-certified instructor, you will receive a 15% discount. This can add up to a significant amount since Stott’s equipment is not inexpensive.
